The George branch of MOWCS have identified specific families and projects in the Elandskraal area (close to Sedgefield & Karatara) where assistance in numerous ways has been given. This is not a week-long, fortnight-long or even month-long project but they are in it until people are back on their feet.
The devasting fires that raged in the Knysna area early June 2017 spread from Elandskraal. The weather and flora conditions were ideal for a catastrophic disaster ... and that is just what happened. Not only were planted plantations, indigenous forest, houses, farm lands, livestock, schools, grazing, vehicles and implements destroyed, not to mention loss of life, but employment lost.
What was not lost is the trust in God who never wanted to see any harm come to His children. In a world filled with evil there is good to be seen. Hearts and wallets, cupboards and hands opened up. Isn't a church organisation supposed to be the example of what a loving Jesus would have done when faced with people in need?
